For the last three days I've heard about Barbie's (yes, the doll) "Mid-life crisis" more on the news than the election, war or upcoming conventions combined.
When I first heard it I thought, well good. It's about time that bi**ch suffered in life, god knows she's caused enough suffering for others...I mean just look at poor Skipper. An anorexic, teen age mother with a big sister inferiority complex. For that alone she deserves what ever comes her way, living there in her Dream house, driving her countless convertibles around overflowing with plastic, good looking guys, without a care in the world, while poor Skipper's living in some Barbie throw away Trailor home. A shame really.
Unfortunately, while I had nearly reached my gloating crescendo, I heard why they thought Barbie was going through her mid-life crisis. She's 45, finally sans Ken for the first time in life, and is suffering from slumping sales. Well, I wasn't exactly crying that her sales were down. There's an endless supply of little posable rubber girls with big fake boobs for little girls of today to compare themselves to and fill like shit, so what's the problem if the queen falls from her throne a little?
But then I got to thinking! I've misunderstood that plastic tramp my whole life!! She's not so bad, or unrealistic really. Consider: She's worth millions, has built an empire, but is told the slumping sells are because she dumped Ken! No matter how hard she works it's always the man to them, as if he had anything to do with her success! Just a sniveling pretty boy along for the ride, mooching of the dumb girl for decades, and let's face it, we've all took a peek at what poor Ken's packing downstairs
....it's a wonder it took 45 years for Barbie to snap. That poor, poor girl..
